The topic of January is the manipulation of the flow and dry behaviour of the ink. I am looking forward to it! Do you have any tips for me on how I can change the colour behaviour?
In the month of december I make artworks without a restrictive theme. I pick up on themes from previous months and test new ideas.
In the month of November I created images in which a straight line was always integrated in some way. Some of the pictures I put in the bleed. for others I used masks with straight lines. Or I put the background together from different cardboards.
This month, instead of pens, I clamped various objects in the machines. I then dripped ink onto these objects by hand. The ink then flows around the objects and onto the paper.
this month i explored the contrast between order and chaos. i tried to create works in which the tension between symmetrical forms and wild structures is as interesting as possible.
In August I created shapes and figures with an organic feel. I wrote an algorithm that varies the speed of the motors slightly at random. these slight fluctuations in speed create very natural-looking shapes.
In July i mounted another motor on my travel drawing machine that can raise and lower the pen. i also equipped this motor with a controller so that i can set different time cycles in which the pen can draw or not.
for june i mounted a vibration motor on the arm construction that guides the pen. this enabled me to make the pen vibrate up and down in various ways, causing the pen to draw dotted lines. in other words, images composed of dots instead of lines.
in may i combined different stroke widths. i also experimented with many different types of pens. a great month!
